connect with your team

When you’re the leader of a team, whether you’re the manager of an office or the CEO of a company, you need to be aware of the right way to connect with them for maximum impact in business. The fact is, if you don’t know how to properly connect with your team, then you’re not going to get the results you want. Your business could very well flounder, due to employee dissatisfaction, too much money spent on hiring and training new people, customer dissatisfaction that stems from employees feeling that way, and more. The way you engage with your employees and motivate them makes a world of difference to how they work in your business.

Without further adieu, let’s take a look at the right way to connect with your team:

Team Building

Team building is a great activity for employees to take part in, but you need to be sure that you’re willing to take part in it too. You could do an official team building activity, or you could simply agree on something to do together, such as a fun run or an obstacle course. This helps everybody to bond and learn more about how each person works, which in turn helps everybody to communicate and work better in the workplace.

Quick And Effective Telephone Systems

Having quick and effective business phone systems isn’t just crucial for customers, but for when you’re looking to speak to your staff too. Sometimes, a quick phone call can help to get important information across quicker and more effectively than an email can. Make sure you have the right telephone system to suit your business.

Removing Barriers To Information

Removing barriers to information is one of the most important things you can do to help connect with your team. You should never wield your power as the boss by selectively giving out information or withholding information from them. Employees should be informed through constant information by their co-workers, managers, and customers. Only when they have this information will they be able to do what they need to do for the company.

Engage Your Team

Engaging your team by asking for feedback using things like employee suggestion systems is an effective way to show them that you care about what they think. When staff know that you care about what they think and that you’re actively taking steps to put these practices in place, it’ll do the world of good.

Total Transparency

On top of removing barriers and engaging the team, total transparency is required. If you aren’t giving people the full picture, they will instinctively know something is up.

Act Like A Human

Acting like a human in business will take you much further than playing the role of the big boss. Make sure you acknowledge staff, smile, learn to laugh at yourself, and relate to them by putting yourself in their situation and telling them stories that may help them based on what you’ve been through.

Connect with your team using these methods and you’ll notice a huge improvement!
