Millions of people spend time online. Much of those millions are now plugged in to a social media channel and have forgotten the days of Neopet and MSN messenger. But the internet is so packed with fun stuff to do, it is a shame to let that go to waste reading other peoples’ status’.
So here is a list of fun things to do online, when you are done with social media.
Music
If you have been listening to the same music for years, you obviously know what you like. But there is more than just what is in the charts. If you want to discover some new music, then there are some cool places you can check out. Youtube is an excellent place for watching music videos and sometimes it might surprise you with a good playlist. Soundcloud is a great resource too. Many unsigned artists have full albums so you can get a better feel for them, and support them from the roots. Bandcamp will let you support the artists directly by buying their albums or singles – which is great for the band, and you have discovered something new.
Gaming
Depending on how much time you have, you might fancy playing some online games. Some of the most popular games are Fortnite and Apex. But if that isn’t your scene, you might like to check out World of Warcraft (and WoW Classic), League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm or Dota/Dota 2. If playing with other people isn’t something that you would enjoy then you can play things like bingo or check out price per head (what is price per head? Click the link to check it out).
Writing
They say that everyone has at least one book inside them. But maybe you have a whole blog and then some. You might find that once you have set up a simple WordPress website, you have much more to say than you had initially thought. Much like any other creative skills, it takes time to feel confident and share your work. But writing a blog or writing articles for different websites can actually make money too. There are more website builders than just WordPress, like Wix, Squarespace and Blogger. So you can find something that makes you comfortable and write until your heart’s content.
Courses
If there is something you have always wanted to learn, you can put money on the fact, there will be a free course somewhere on the internet that can help you achieve that goal. If you find that you don’t have time to travel to a campus, then this is a great option. And, if you are hoping to create a side hustle at some point, then a course on the topic you want to know more about is a great idea.
Spending tie on the internet doesn’t have to involve scrolling and coming away with a brain full of other people’s opinions, you can spend your time well and create, learn and enjoy yourself.
