This is the Twitter transcript of Financial Bin’s chat with Tiffanie Wagner of Cre8tive Chemistry on Thursday, November 17, 2011:
@FinancialBin: What is entrepreneurship to you? What does it take to be an entrepreneur?
@TiffanieWagner: Entrepreneurship is sacrifice, hardwork, and risk taking. to be an entrepreneur it’s essential that you take risks. There’s no such thing as playing it safe
@FinancialBin: What was your first entrepreneurial experience?
@TiffanieWagner: My first entrepreneurial experience was my weekly kool-aid stand in the middle ofManhattanat the age of 11. It was one of the “easier” ventures I worked on. As an adult my experience in entrepreneurship began with my event …planning business “Party With Us”
@FinancialBin: You are the 2nd #entrepreneur I spoke with who had lemonade/koolaid stand. I had one as a kid too. We made deliveries too!
@TiffanieWagner: I’m allergic to lemons so I wasn’t as diverse as you were in my product haha
@FinancialBin: What are some ways that the community can get involved in entrepreneurship?
@TiffanieWagner: I love this question! STEP OUT OF THE BOX! I definitely think schools should teach cirriculums on entrepreneurship starting in grade school. Molding youth to have the “9-5” mentally is debilitating to say the least. Implementing programs where youth can learn the value of hard work and risk taking will definitely promote #entrepreneurship.
@FinancialBin: Couldnt agree more! Colleges caught on to #entrepreneurial instruction. But high schools & middle schools should too!
@FinancialBin: What was the greatest obstacle you’ve overcome on your entrepreneurial journey, and what was the lesson learned?
@TiffanieWagner: I’m an instinctive person so if I think up an idea I automatically want to turn it into a profitable business. It took time for me to learn that as cliche as it sounds “failing to plan is planning to fail”. Now I sit on ideas for at least 30 days before I decide whether or not it’s sensible at the present time. My instinct still gets me into trouble sometimes but that’s part of being an #Entrepreneur.
@FinancialBin: If you could give one piece of entrepreneurial advice to every college student, what would it be?
@TiffanieWagner: Being a college student myself, I always tell my peers to remember school is just a foundation. The “real world” doesn’t come with a textbook. It’s imperative to learn your trade hands on.
@FinancialBin: What did you wish you knew when you started that you know now as a business owner?
@TiffanieWagner:I wish when I started I knew that not everyone wants to see you succeed! I always want to include everyone in the success I’ve achieved unfortunately it can be a burden at times.
@FinancialBin: Believe it or not, I know EXACTLY what you mean.
@FinancialBin: Would you do anything differently?
@TiffanieWagner: I wouldn’t do anything differently. Everything I’ve encountered has been a learning experience.
@FinancialBin: What are your plans for the foreseeable future?
@TiffanieWagner: Currently I’m focused on building my brand marketing/management agency, continuing to do motivational speaking and school
@FinancialBin: What is your favorite quote on business or entrepreneurship?
@TiffanieWagner: “Your actions are so loud, no one can hear your words.”
